In the approximately 10 years that GRA has been in existence it has grown from an organization focused on educational assistance for aids orphans to an incredibly extensive and impressive community development organization. GRA now has projects as diverse as production of earthen bricks for home construction; drilling operations to establish new clean water wells; creation of permaculture gardens, and innovative treatments for malaria. GRA is flourishing through the combined efforts of its dedicated staff, the local population of the Mara region in Tanzanie and enthusiastic volunteers from all over the world, many of whom have unique talents and expertise. GRA also has a fantastic web site which provides lots of very accessible and interesting information and photos, to show and tell the many ways in which GRA is researching and applying innovative techniques old and new to create an environmentally sustainable community in which the local population is able to sustain itself. With so many environmental and economic challenges facing the world GRA provides both insight into possible solutions and an inspirational vision of people actually solving these problems.
