Review for Stone House, Roxbury, MA, USA
The work of the Elizabeth Stone House reflects their deeply held values of believing that all people deserve respect, support, and hope on their life journeys towards healing after experiencing homelessness. Their programs both within their shelter, and in the community they serve, have mitigated the effects of violence and trauma experience by women and their children. Through their connection to the Elizabeth Stone House staff and other members of the ESH community they have restored their confidence, moved towards self-sufficiency, and found resiliency in themselves and their community. For the past 12 years I have hiked with Wilderness Heals to raise money to support their programming. I come back to hike each year because I believe in their values, programs, and to support their work with women, children and families.
