Review for HopeKids, Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Our son was diagnosed with an incurable disease when he was 10 months old. We didn't know how long we had with him - so we made a bucket list of all of the things we wanted him to experience in his short life. HopeKids helped us accomplish so many of the items on his list at no charge to our family. Not only did they provide provide the opportunity to our son but also to our entire family. Those experiences were priceless to us and wonderful memories. HopeKids offers free experiences/events to families that have children with life threatening illnesses. Taking away the financial burden and offering moments of fun through such a challenging time, offers hope, healing and helps families make memories together. We are so grateful to have found HopeKids and we appreciate all that they continue to do in our community.

HopeKids provided us with the most amazing experiences and memories as a family. Our son was diagnosed with a rare and terminal illness called Krabbe leukodystrophy. He was diagnosed at 10 months old with a life expectancy of about 2. We immediately decided to live life to the fullest and created a "bucket list" for him. We looked up other non-profits who could help toward our effort but our son was too young to qualify. That's when we found HopeKids. They not only provided amazing experiences for our son, Max, but also for our whole family. We were not just another family or another name, we were part of their family. We got to go to an NFL game, NHL game, NBA game, a train ride to the north pole, visit the real bat cave and have our son and daughter play in a real baseball game (even with his severe limitations). They always accommodated his needs and even visited us while in the hospital with him. I can't say enough about them. They offered us so many wonderful memories as a family. Our son passed away earlier this year and they have continued to support our family and check in on us. They are truly an incredible organization who help families experience some normalcy and allow them to not worry about organizing or covering the cost of an event (since a lot are already tight on money with the medical burdens). Thank you Hope Kids for continuing to serve our community and the families who need that extra amount of fun in their lives.
