Review for Room for Joy, Mesa, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We have a friend who's daughter with a life threatening illness got a room makeover. It is gorgeous and helped her to feel like her room was an escape not a makeshift hospital room. It lifted her spirits and looks gorgeous.

Review for HopeKids, Scottsdale, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My son age 5 has a Mitochonfrial Disease Depletion Syndrome. This is a progressive terminal illness and he spends much of his life in the hospital or at doctors and therapy appointments. Before Hopekids his siblings felt that there was nothing good for them in life. They just got shuffeled from friend or family member during hospital stays and drug arrund to appointmemts doing school work in between.
Because of out of pocket medical costs and gas to get to appts I never have any money left even to take the kids to a movie.
A friend told me about Hopekids so I applied and a whole new world opened up for us. All of a sudden I had places I could take my son in his wheelchair where no one looked at him funny. I could reward the other two for their help and patience with games, concerts and events things I never dreamed we could do. On top of all that they visit us in the hospital and give that desperately needed hug. They send out encouragments and reminders to keep up the faith, they pray for us faithfully.
And one of the best things, they introduced me to lasting friendships with families facing both the same and different medical battles. I might never of met any of these people other than to give a nod of support in waiting rooms. Now I have people I can call and cry with one's who understand the struggle as no one else can.
Hopekids has not only brought our family hope but a lifeline to sanity. They are amazing and I cannot imagine fighting the Mito battle without them.
