My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Placer Nature Center, Auburn, CA, USA
Volunteering at the Placer Nature Center was a life changing experience for me. I stared helping out office staff and getting a chance to work with the volunteer docents and seeing how they worked with the school field trips. Seeing the expressions on the kids faces and watching how the interacting with the docents I soon became a docent myself. I love how fun the schools groups are and how the kids come alive with each activity. Placer Nature Center is now my 2nd home for not only me but my 2 year old who just enjoys the hikes, garden, and the live bee hive. Thanks to Placer Nature Center I've been able to bond with my daughter doing outdoor activities and realized where my heart truly lyes.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
My own life as far as being able to connect with my daughter. The weekend family days have opened the doors to us being outside, looking for bugs, planting trees, and digging for worms. As a docent I see the results in the children everyday!
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
That every time I'm hear I learn something new and I LOVE working with the kids.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Outgoing, fun, creative, dedicated, understanding, informed, and all very unique in all the best ways.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Have more exhibits, better parking for all the guest they get,do a better outreach for more volunteers, get some paid staff, offer more field trips, update field trip materials, make their handicap trials and garden bigger and am overall face lift.
