I relocated to the area four months ago was very excited to learn Adopt A Greyhound Atlanta was only 10 minutes away. I immediately called Carl and asked about volunteer opportunities and the adoption process. Once I am settled I will adopt another greyhound (mine passed away two years ago). As a volunteer I help with new greyhound delivery and attend monthly Meet ‘n Greets. The onboarding of new greyhounds is very organized. Immediately we separate the greyhounds by male/female in the outdoor areas and give them space to stretch their legs and get acclimated to their new surroundings. Carl and his team of volunteers observe each greyhound for personality and identifying traits. The dogs are brought into the kennel and then one by one are taken outside for pictures for the website. Carl is devoted to the dogs, as anyone can see, as he is often on the phone and speaking with greyhound adopters and adopters-to-be about the latest dogs.
