Review for Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta Inc, Stone Mtn, GA, USA
Recently I was involved in the effort to save the life of a half-greyhound, commonly referred to as "lurchers." We became aware that the dog was going to be euthanized a mere five days in advance and two of those days were a weekend when the shelter was closed. We literally had 48 hours to save Milo. Because this dog was already in the kill shelter, he was not available for adoption - only a Georgia-based adoption group with a Georgia "rescue" license could save Milo. I am in Pennsylvania. I do not have a Georgia license. I called so many groups asking for help. With the clock ticking down, no one was willing to help - until I called Adopt A Greyhound, Atlanta. They didn't care that Milo was not a tattooed pure-blood greyhound. They understood that he needed help that I could not give him. Carl at Adopt A Greyhound Atlanta made the phone calls to the shelter and filed the paperwork so that Milo could be taken to a foster home and receive veterinary care for his skin condition. Carl did not have to help us. No one else would help us. I noted that my partner in this effort (Rose) posted a picture of Milo in the shelter. Let me post one more of Milo on the day that he arrived home, with his foster/forever Dad. As I write this, Milo is alive, three days after he was scheduled to die. Without Carl and Adopt A Greyhound, Atlanta - Milo would no longer exist. Thank you, Carl and Adopt A Greyhound Atlanta for being a friend when I (and Milo) needed one desperately.
