The Park Champions program that is administered through the California State Parks Foundation is one of the most rewarding volunteering experiences I have ever had. Not only does Park Champions allow one to visit and help out at various CA State Parks, but it allows one to meet incredible people. The Core Leaders who coordinate the volunteer work days are dedicated and encouraging through the whole process. In addition, some of the work days offer free camping for volunteers, which makes the experience all the more rewarding.
