Review for Long Island Sled Hockey Inc. - For the Differently-abled Athlete, , NY, USA
My son, Jesse, found this program last winter. It is the highlight of this 10 year olds week. He has been sidelined from playing competitive sports for the last 4 years due to a hip disability. While he can walk ( albeit with a limp), he can't play competitive sports. His life changed when he was introduced to Bryan and the Rough Riders. He was now part of a team. He felt included. No one asks what his disability is or treats him differently. He gets on the ice and runs drills at practice like every other guy on the team. ( keep in mind, the other guys ( or girls) may not have legs, or wear prosthetics or have down syndrome or cp). On the ice, you are one of the team. Bryan Bloomquist runs an amazing program for these players. He includes everyone and ensures they are fully equipped and padded and ready to play. Who knew such a great program existed right here on Long Island?
