As a new board member, I continue to be impressed by the services provided by The Family Place. This organization helps thousands of women and children escape from domestic violence and begin to build a new life. During our board initiation, we heard from a young woman that had totally turned her life around. She gained new confidence, obtained a college degree and put herself and children on a positive path. This young woman was quite articulate and impressive. Through TFP program, she has learned that the domestic violence she has experienced and witnessed in her family for generations, is not acceptable and that there are ways to address issues without violence.
