Rudy is our third older lab rescue from LR. Labrador Rescuers of San Diego is a terrific rescue group that made the whole adoption process a very satisfying experience, over the past eight years, both for us and our three adopted dogs.

What has been most helpful for us is the support given by the organization and, in particular, the foster parents who have been so essential to the re-homing process. They all remained in communication with us and were always available for our questions, requests, and have become friends. We love sending photos to our fosters so they can still be connected. They also supplied us with blankets and food to get us started, as well as with words of encouragement during those early uncertain days.

We recently adopted “Vintage Rudy” after the passing of our beloved Sammy in November, 2022. We first saw Rudy at a Labrador Rescuers Adoption Event with his foster, Dee, in Clairemont at Petco. His tail never stopped wagging, and we were hooked. He turned out to be more loving than we ever could have hoped for and seems to have become our neighborhood greeter. The whole neighborhood has fallen in love with him, too!

We want to express our appreciation to Labrador Rescuers and all the volunteers who make this such a great organization.

This is our 2nd adoption through Lab Rescuers of SD. After losing our beautiful Shaggy
this past year, we knew Lab Rescuers was the place to start looking again. Our former
foster showed us Sammy. We immediately fell in love with him. LR helped us foster
with the intent to adopt. Sammy is a 12 year old senior who lost everything he had
known for 12 years and had to be relinquished due to domestic issues. LR helped up
deal with his anxieties and hooked us up with a terrific behavioral specialist. We are so
lucky to have Sammy in our life. He is a perfect gentleman with so much love to give
to everyone and to everything. He’s a love magnet and has already become the darling
of neighborhood, especially in a time of Covid with so much isolation. Lab Rescuers is an awesome organization. Thank you LR for rescuing all of us.

We adopted Shaggy after following him several months online. Stacy came out and interviewed us and checked out our residence. She was very encouraging and helpful. We then got to visit Shaggy at his foster home with Sue. We fell in love in love with him immediately. In all of the adoption process, Labrador Rescuers and especially Sue were extremely helpful and informative. Shaggy is everything you could want in a dog and very loving . Susan and Norb
