Minnie's food pantry does far more than hand out food to the needy. They take care of their patron's emotional needs as well by showing respect, welcoming with hugs and smiles and offering bottled water while they wait and giving them a red carpet welcome. They offer internal programs for their clients including classes for cooking healthy to balancing your checking account to having computers available for those who need to use them. Minnie's reaches the community outside its doors by having programs for taking food to some of the Senior Living facilities, as well as having a sack lunch program for homeless and day workers. When you volunteer you are met with people who are full of energy and excitement and are glad you are there and no matter what task you are given they make you feel appreciated and you leave with a feeling of gratitude and appreciation and can't wait to go back to volunteer again. Minnie's is not there to hand out, they strive to lend a helping hand to help people up.
