Review for Colony Cats (& Dogs), Dublin, OH, USA
One of the only no-kill shelters in Franklin County, Ohio. They focus efforts on spay and neuter and TNR (trap-neuter-return), but also help cats and dogs they find along the way. Some are kittens who may not be saved at other shelters; some are in need of TLC or surgeries; and some are FIV+, which in most shelters is a death sentence. Colony Cats recognizes that these lives matter and will do its best to save each life. They have a team of fosters for kittens and others needing socialization or just some quiet time away from the open shelter routine, and also for dogs! In fact, Colony Cats may be one of the largest all volunteer run rescues with a shelter in operation. Colony Cats also has a working cat program so community cats that must be relocated can go to safe gardens, barns, breweries or other places to live out wonderful lives.
Review for Colony Cats (& Dogs), Dublin, OH, USA
I found Colony Cats and started to follow the organization on Facebook and help financially. When a pet supply company permitted Conloy Cats to place adoptable cats at a store on the east side, I was so excited to be able to be hands on and directly help by caring for those cats on a weekly basis. I love that stores allow centers like Colony Cats to showcase cats for adoption and watching these cats get furever homes. Colony Cats is committed to the Columbus community by helping when other centers will not or cannot by taking in cats when others are overloaded, tnr, helping ill or injured cats get well and even coming up with creative adoption ideas for 'hard to adopt' cats by suggesting they be 'critter' cats on farms and places where the cats can roam and 'work.' I am proud to be associated with this non-profit and the work they do and encourage others to check them out!
