I definitely did not expect the experience I had with One Heart Source. I expected the traditional, same ole, "savior complex" experience, and that is far from what I had. I met great people, like minded people, people who were intentional about doing necessary work to shift and change. I met people who were passionate. I was able to learn more about myself and others via my experiences and stories from others. The children I was so blessed with having the opportunity to mentor changed me. No, they didn't change me in a sense where I am now all of a sudden much more grateful for life because I have better access- but they changed me in a sense where I now have much more appreciation for children. They taught me how to teach them and mentor them. They were extremely vulnerable with me (after some time) and open to showing me that I could be a much better educator than I am. And for that I am grateful. Still South Africa dreamin'
