Review for Variety, the Children's Charity of Texas, Austin, TX, USA
Variety Club of Texas was an organization that was there to help my 13 year old daughter Shelby get a manual wheelchair. She was denied 3 times from the state program that she was on due to the fact that she had an electric wheelchair. They could not undestand that we use a manual one just as much. For example when a friend or family member will want to take her somewhere they have to take her with the manual chair, most people do not have a van with a lift as their vehicle of choice. Variety purchased the wheelchair that she needed and now she is like other 14 year old; she can go anywhere at any given time. Variety was very professional and they worked quickly. They treated me and my child with respect and I am very grateful. This is a wonderful program for people like me, who work, contribute to society, but just do not have the "extra" to purchase equipment that their children need. Thank You!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Very professional (Lance) was very kind and willing to talk to me on the phone in length to explain what this organization could do for my child.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Help so many people that are feeling hopeless and ashamed that they could not afford what their child needed, like I did before they helped us.
