Review for Franklin Community Council, Inc., Franklin, KS, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Working with the wonderful volunteers has been a life changing experience. These dedicated people have stepped up at a time of dire need. Their dedication and hard work has been inspiring. Many of the residents were elderly and the center of the community which contained their beloved community center was destroyed. After 7 years of working with the organization I am motivated to do more as I see the strength of the women who work on the committees and the board. Many of the women are in their 80s and continue to work on many of the fund raising and community projects. The rebuilding has been due to their willingness to roll up their sleeves and tackle the difficult jobs. A donation to this organization would allow them to continue to rebuild and provide programs to residents throughout all of southeast Kansas.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

a variety of projects. They were instrumental in building a community park with a memorial garden, playground and a walking path. They completed a Community Center & Heritage Museum where the history of the community is maintained.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

bring in even more volunteers. The current volunteers all feel like family and the community has the feeling of living in "Mayberry" where everyone knows your name.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with the wonderful people from the area. It has been the experience of a lifetime. I have never been associated with such dedicated people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all exceptional. I did not have a negative experience. If there was a problem the organization dealt with it in a very professional manner.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue its good works, complete the rebuilding of the community, build senior housing and upgrade their park and walking facilities. The organization provides services that are beneficial to the entire area including health, educational, social & art

Ways to make it better...

there had been more funding available. Volunteers continue to seek grants and other funds for their projects. They hold fund raisers constantly.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding to continue their good works. Also bringing in new families, seniors and residents to make the community an even better place to live.

One thing I'd also say is that...

No one who has been a part of any of the events sponsored by this organization would be disappointed with the work they are doing.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
