10 years ago we move from the suburbs and luckily ended up living on the beautiful Rose Kennedy Greenway. My husband and I are both avid gardeners and missed our perennial garden work. My husband, who was retired, immediately started volunteering on the Greenway. He cam home with wonderful stories about the people he met and how much he enjoyed playing in the dirt again! When my scheduled allowed I joined him and after retiring I started volunteering on a regular basis. This year I joined Nicole on Tuesdays with her zone gardening. Luckily the parcels we work in are right in front of my home, so I am also able to enjoy the fruits of my labor every day. Working on the Greenway is such a wonderful way to make connections in the neighborhood and to meet visitors from all around the world. Nicole and all the interns and volunteers make the time go by quickly and and enjoyably. The Greenway is really a treasure!

Six years ago, my husband and I left the suburbs and moved to the waterfront. The beautifully landscaped property, the Greenway, in front of our condo was one of the reasons we chose our new home. Over the next few years, we learned that the physical beauty of the site was matched by the amazing programs being offered on the site. We've enjoyed so many varied experiences from food truck celebrations, amazing dancing displays in Chinatown, farmers's markets on Dewey Square, weekend craft markets, play times in Chinatown where it is so exciting to see parents and their children exploring hula hoops, jumping ropes, browsing and reading books at the portable library; musical and dance presentations and many temporary art installations...some we've loved and some that surely stimulated lots of conversations! One great side benefit of our involvement with the Greenway has been all of the new friends we have made in Boston. The Greenway is not only an amazing tourist attraction, but it is our front yard where we have met and made new friends in our wonderful new and exciting neighborhood.
