Review for Seattle Tilth Association Inc, Seattle, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a graduate student finishing up my masters degree in Environmental Education, I was recommended to contact Seattle Tilth by the garden/teaching staff from the IslandWood garden I worked and taught in last year. Since June of 2009, we have been working together to get my master's project for the University of Washington "into" the ground so to speak!! They have not only provided material and staff supports, but genuine interest in the project as well--fostering and inspiring the project even further! They have been instrumental in the development of this project and I am fortunate to have access to such a supportive organization/community!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

taking their COG (comprehensive gardening) class this past spring. It was one of the best classes I've had all year---and as a grad student I've taken a lot of classes! From their hands-on approach, to the guides provided, the learners' needs were met.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide more garden space for teaching, more materials for their teaching spaces, more staff to facilitate more classes at the gardens they have, better pay for their staff and more classes at lower cost for the public!

Ways to make it better...

There would have been smaller groups, more gardening space to work, more staff to work with the groups, and stools to sit on during the lecture components!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
