Review for Institute for Humane Education, Surry, ME, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I joined the IHE board in February 2023. The joy and positivity among the staff fuels ground-breaking work. Education and our world sorely needs the inspiration and the know-how that IHE brings for change-making. Students learn to use both creative and critical thinking skills for solving problems that result in the most good and least harm. I attended Zoe Weil's book launch in Maine where I experienced an audience of 200+ stomping their feet in enthusiastic support. IHE's mission and achievements are nothing short of spectacular.

Review for Institute for Humane Education, Surry, ME, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Institute for Humane Education's learning approach is embedded in my local San Mateo county, CA public schools. IHE's work is an important answer for healing our polarized world. Students are developing skills for critical and systems thinking alongside skills for collaboration and creativity to problem-solve for the least harm and most good. I love serving on the Board where I experience deep listening, compassion and sharing of ideas. The organization walks its talk!

Review for Environmental Volunteers, Inc., Palo Alto, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I got to know Environmental Volunteers in 2007 through the training program for school volunteers. It was fun and highly informative about the natural world in the Bay area. I was eager for more people to know about the EV. I joined the board in 2009 to help with outreach. I love that the board is regularly engaged with the organization. And helping kids learn about science and nature is a terrific investment in our future.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the classroom. I've witnessed the kids getting switched on to their natural world. Teachers love the EV because it brings trained volunteers and field trips to the class learning experience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people who are genuinely concerned about our environment and who stay positive by inspiring children.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all wonderful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

shape the way our nation's children learn about science and nature.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
