I have been a volunteer at Lollypop Farm for 11 years now as an adoption counselor and more recently, in the past few months, as a Pet Peeves Behavior Helpline person for dogs. I am also helping Lollypop's Behavior Department with dogs that need some extra time socializing with people or those dogs who need extra attention for whatever reason. I absolutely LOVE dogs and always have and love what I do at Lollypop Farm. When I retired, I chose to volunteer with Lollypop Farm and put in more hours because I believed in what they were doing for the animals, and felt they felt the same way I did about the animals. I have had only positive interaction with ALL the staff at Lollypop Farm from the Managers, to the Behavior Department people, to the supervisors, veterinarian techs and veterinarians in the clinic, Kennel attendants who keep ALL the dogs kennels clean in an on-going basis- even when they are not well or not house-trained, or end of having some communicable problem where they need to be in isolation and their previous kennel needs to be completely steralized, adoption counselors, and the law enforcement officers. I have to also give a huge shout-out to the volunteer "dog walkers" who walk the dogs in ALL kinds of weather!!! They do this for the love of dogs- no one is thanking them for each and every dog they walk. Truly wonderful people. I have found that everyone TRULY cares about the animals at Lollypop Farm. When my 15 y.o. rescued shepherd mix , Teddy, passed away four years ago I adopted my german shepherd puppy, Hannah, from Lollypop. I would not adopt from anywhere else. A person really has to be there to know the time everyone puts into ALL the animals there. From the very small to the very big. It's a place with a HUGE HEART. I am proud to say I volunteer at Lollypop Farm and will continue to volunteer until I am no longer physically able to.
