Review for HERO, Healthcare Equipment Recycling Organization , Fargo, ND, USA

HERO has been an excellent organization to be associated with. I look forward to volunteering with them every month (and sometimes up to twice a month). The friendly staff let you know you are making a difference in the world. Their altruistic view point and dedication to their cause are inspiring. Being a pre-med student I have learned immeasurable amounts of information about the needs in the community and other countries, like Haiti. I would recommend, to anyone that asks, to donate time to this awesome nonprofit organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the community and behind the scenes. Stories about the lives that are touched and the trips outside of the country help to generate a positive experience while working with HERO.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

employee the same people that you dedicating their time and lives to HERO now. They are doing a fantastic job.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

coming to an organization with upbeat staff and fellow volunteers. I get to spend time with people that have the same goal as I do. I have met many people that make the whole experience worthwhile.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

encouraging, enthusiastic, and entertaining!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reach many more lives. There are countless individuals in the world that are in need of medical supplies. Clean and useful medical equipment help improve the quality of life for so many. HERO would make sure the money was put to good use.

Ways to make it better...

No way to make the experience better. Knowing that others are affected by what I do is the greatest reward that I could receive.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

(is) limited funding. The ability of this organization to give back would be greatly enhanced with more donations and grants.

One thing I'd also say is that...

HERO is a great opportunity to give back!

Role:  Volunteer & I helped to organize medical supplies into boxes to be shipped to countries in need. I also helped to clean and organize the warehouse in order for HERO to continue doing what they do best, help not only their community but the world.
