I have adopted three dogs from Lucky Pup Dog Rescue and have since become an active supporter. The founders, Steve and Christine Haslet, are passionate about giving unwanted shelter dogs the best life possible, and work tirelessly to do just that. There is no hesitation in saving the dogs that need them the most. Sick dogs, injured dogs, senior dogs, feral dogs all have been given a chance at life by their willingness to financially and also lovingly tackle their issues with veterinary care, training, and caring foster homes (often their own home!). The dogs they pull experience love and begin to learn trust right from the moment they leave the shelter, they are not just moved to boarding facilities or kennel situations. And these dogs are adored and cared for are until the perfect adopter can be found, whether that be two weeks or two years. Once you adopt a Lucky Pup, there is always support and follow up from the rescue to ensure everyone is happy and that the dog has found its forever home. That is the ultimate goal, that the rescue dog find its perfect match so it can live happily ever after, and Lucky Pup Dog Rescue has given that gift to close to 200 death row shelter dogs. The needs of the dog, whatever they may be, truly come first.
