Red Wolf Coalition does something no other organization does--it stands up for the red wolf, one of the most endangered species on the planet. The animal was driven to near-extinction just a few years ago by those that did not understand, and thus feared, the wolf. The Coalition has been working for years to educate the public about the wolf, and to let people know of the positive role it can play in the appropriate habitat.

Unfortunately, a very loud minority of landowners in northeastern North Carolina has undertaken an obsessive campaign to kill off the remaining wild red wolf population. Relying on online communities--including GuideStar--these people spread outright lies about the wolf and those that support it. Thankfully, the Coalition works hard to respond, and to continue its work on behalf of the wolf.
