My participation in Biosphere Expeditions begun in 2005, first by setting up an expedition in Brazil and latter in a role as scientist in Peru and Oman. Since then I have been involved in the scientific supervision of other expedition projects with large mammals, including study design, data analysis, report reviews and publication in scientific journals.

During this period, I was able to witness the progress that was gained to deliver good science, result of a constant pursue for improvement in several fronts - be it in the involvement of partners and local communities, number and quality of activities to be developed during expeditions, presentation of results in a daily basis to follow the expedition progress, constant improvement in training to shorten the learning curve and increase understanding so that reliable information is retrieved from field surveys and rigorous report reviews.

I'm happy to have made part of this story, and recommend the expeditions to anyone that is found of wild places, adventure, good company and wants to be involved in research and conservation of wildlife.
