Review for Bayou Land Conservancy, Houston, TX, USA
I only joined the Legacy Land Trust board a year ago, and I am committed to the organization’s mission of land preservation within the Houston vicinity. Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the U.S.A, and this diversity is echoed in the landscape. Our region’s fauna and flora is influenced by the convergence of costal prairies, wetlands, and piney wood forests that share our space. Recognizing the influence of uncontrolled urban sprawl on our precious resources, LLT provides an opportunity for us to conserve some of these special places for future generations. The “No Child Left Inside” program demonstrates the commitment to environmental education, and provides the tools for future stewards to protect this limited resource. “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul” - John Muir.
