I foster kittens for a shelter in rural Tennessee. When a litter of 3 kittens turned up FeLV positive, I began contacting every rescue I could find that might take a positive kitty. None of them would give me the time of day. I got rejection after rejection with no offer of hope or help for the kittens. Finally, one evening, I received a call. It was from Bonne Vevea of MEOW Cat Rescue. She explained that they did not have room for my kitties, but discussed other options with me, something no other rescue had done. She suggested contacting Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and encouraged me to do so even though I didn't think they would be able to help. I followed her advice and Best Friends accepted my 3 sweet kitties. Unfortunately, FeLV reared it's ugly head and all three passed before they could go to Best Friends.But, if not for Bonne Vevea and MEOW Cat Rescue, I would have had no hope for these kitties. Bonne and MEOW are the only ones who cared enough to reach out. Even though they could not take the kitties, they were willing to help me find a place. I will never forget that. MEOW Cat Rescue is quality. The people, the care is all quality. I wish I lived nearby so that I could be a part of it.

After contacting dozens of rescues to try to place them, Bonnie at MEOW Cat Rescue was the only one who called me. MEOW could not take the kittens, but she gave me advice on placing them, made suggestions, and used her contacts. Because of her, they were placed at Best Friends. She gave me hope and helped me when she could have just turned me down. She showed real compassion and is truly there to help the animals. I have great respect for Bonnie and MEOW Cat Rescue. I wish I lived nearby so I could foster for them.
