Skookum Kids cares for children in their first 3 days of foster care.

I give to Skookum because they fill such an important need in the community—caring for children as they transition into foster care. It's a scary time for these kids. When the system fails them, it compounds the trauma they experience. And Skookum Kids makes sure that doesn't happen.

The children are safe and cared for by trained volunteers who take them on fun outings and make sure all of their needs are met.

Then, when it's time for them to transition into a long-term foster home, Skookum Kids is able to inform prospective foster parents about the child's temperament, triggers, and developmental stage so they can make an informed placement decision.
