Review for Camp Odayin, Oakdale, MN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My Son was born with a congenital heart defect. His heart will require attention for the rest of his life. Camp Odayin has been life changing for him. The Camp Odayin Family is powerful. Camp built self esteem, respect for others and instilled a need to help others with similar problems. The influence of the volunteers has been so positive. Each year he comes home raving about things he has learned about life. He no longer feels as if he is the only one. I look forward to the day when i have successfully raised my children and come back and be a volunteer at camp Odayin.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The campers and parents keep in touch year round. They celebrate successful procedures and mourn together the loss of friends. The volunteers are the catalyst for these kids to believe in themselves and the volunteers are like the glue that hold the kids together.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Be exhausted. Sara is an amazing person.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Building a bigger and bigger support group the longer we are involved. The bonds just grow stronger and stronger.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

young and old and from many vocations. They were united in their funloving attitude and desire to help kids.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

I would not want it to change. I might add transportion for some in need.

Ways to make it better...

I cannot imagine what could be better. I cry for joy at most of the events.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

emotionally, losing a camper. financially, keeping the funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Thank you to everyone involved.
