Review for Nepal Orphans Home Inc, Davidson, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

If you are interested in volunteering, I highly recommend doing the right research and talking to the right people. There are a great deal of scams and organizations that are only there to take your money especially in Nepal. However, NOH and Volunteer Nepal are not on that list. This organization is full of passionate directors and advisors that will give you all of the opportunities that you need to make a difference. No matter what your interests are, they can help, so that you can help. As a medical volunteer myself, I assisted in rural hospitals delivering vaccines to local villages, or diagnosed patients with clubbed feet outside of Kathmandu. There are so many opportunities! In kathmandu, many of the volunteers went to an English converstaion class with local Nepali women, taught English and mathmatics to children of all ages, and/or became friends with local Nepali orphans in NOH and other local organizations. The cost may seem like it is a lot, I know as a broke student paying back loans, but it is worth it. Half of the money goes directly to the children and community. They get a great education, have 2 to 3 meals a day, and have opportunities that would not be possible without this aid. The rest goes to your food, housing, and travel expenses. Again, I highly recommend this organization! It completely changed my view in my profession and as a person. If you have any additional questions email me at nwilliams15@ jcu.edu. Go make a difference.
