Review for SMART Recovery USA Inc., Mentor, OH, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Take all those recovery statistics you read and hear about and throw them in the trash!

If your tired of labels. If your tired of recovery programs that narrow their recovery. If your just flat out tired of being on the recovery circuit, and ready to find a program that you can actually graduate from. Then SMART is the one.

How many of us have spent years, decades on the recovery circuit going form meeting to meeting only to find that our success is based on supernatural forces? How many of us have been to meetings where we were not allowed to talk about medication and alternative methods of recovery? How many of us have been asked to leave when we expressed our viewpoints on recovery? SMART Recovery is a program that is constantly evolving as science evolves. Smart does not bash other programs or methods of recovery. SMART is constantly looking for the next best set of tools. Members that share what works for them are not looked at as problem members but as volunteers to a community of members committed to success!

We have seen Elitism ruin the growth of recovery programs. We have seen politics, internal strife, conflict and confrontation that leave new volunteers walking on egg shells. SMART has a fantastic training program that trains volunteers not only how to help other members on their recovery journey but also how to resolve issues between volunteers and leadership to keep the SMART volunteer base strong!

What is the strongest attributes of SMART vs. other programs? The structure of SMART. The newest member can attend meetings where the founder of the program not only shows up, but is approachable and addresses members concerns in a meaningful way. The leadership of SMART is strong, and constantly improving the SMART program.

At SMART Recovery I have learned through Smarts Tools and Skills to Empower myself with the Power of Change. I make my own statistics of Success.
