Review for Woldumar Nature Association, Lansing, MI, USA
What a gem! I love volunteering here. There is so much to enjoy. The walking trails wind through the forest and to the river or through the prairie and to the wetlands. There are always educational events taking place. The herb garden is next to the historic 1860s log cabin and has a charming log bench where visitors can sit and enjoy the fragrance of the plants that might have been used by the Moon family who lived in the log cabin. Woldumar is a door into nature and environmental education and preservation.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
various events such as Wildflower Weekend, Heritage Weekend, Chili Winter Evening and many other events. As a volunteer, I've had the opportunity to guide visitors through the herb garden and talk to them about the plants.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the fact that they keep their mission to educate and protect the environment so seriously and so well. Volunteers help keep Woldumar a welcoming place for the public and that's very rewarding to be involved in.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
knowledgeable and friendly. The dedication the staff and volunteers feel to Woldumar is amazing.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
stop worrying about how to make ends meet. They could hire more staff and expand their programs to educate more people. They could improve the visitor center and make it a more welcoming and educational experience.
