I will start by saying a sincere thank you to Myrna for her kindness and help during one of the most difficult times in mine and my children's life...my fiancé has fallen victim to an exploitative ,deceptive group posing as a rehabilitation center for addiction to alcohol and drugs in queens ny....he was a person with dreams and goals also a great love for family and now instead of living those dreams he is "serving " the group by selling various items in the streets and constant fund raising as well as getting new members to join for almost 2 years now...he has expressed an extreme fear of returning to the "real world"...I never hear from him after questioning the motives of the group to its leaders and his immediate family gets a call maybe once per 2 months only for a few minutes because they have not questioned or been confrontational regarding their doubts....this place claims to be free of cost to clients but the cost is their dreams lives and freedom...some members have been "serving "for 10-15 years and live in bunk beds with nothing more than a few old clothes..having abandoned their wives and children in the name of recovery at the direction of the group....I am trusting God for a good outcome eventually and again am very great full for the support ,kindness and advice Myrna has offered.please beware of any self help group...do research ...anyone can fall victim to this exploitation.
