The Nobelity Project is a great local organization with a strong following in Austin, but has a surprisingly broad reach. While their focus is on education, I think part of the appeal for supporters is the variation of programs in Kenya, Mexico, Honduras and here in the US. Whether you want to help provide access to clean water, help students succeed around the globe, or focus on conservation efforts - there's a NOBEL cause to get behind ;p
They work hard, throw really fun events and heed most any proposition that comes their way so long as it fits within their mission of bridging gaps towards a greater good. The folks at Nobelity prove local acts can have a global impact! It's amazing what one little nonprofit can do.
