Review for Salesian Missions Inc, New Rochelle, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Salesian Missions is a Catholic nonprofit organization whose missionaries. walking in the footsteps of St. John Bosco, their founder, serve the poorest of the poor in over 130 countries throughout the world. Since God blessed me to be born into a poor family, yet with so much love, I understand how poverty can affect a family's basic needs. My father, a great man with a strong Catholic faith, worked very hard and long hours, with a meager salary, to keep his family clothed, well fed and made certain his three children attended Catholic schools. My mother was able to keep us well groomed, prepared nutritious meals; however, she had serious health problems. The Salesian missionaries are performing the same types of duties and responsibilities as my father did for his family. My devoted father died suddenly in his sleep at 49 years old. This was a devastating shock to our family unit and also caused us to move deeper into poverty, but God allowed me to finish college so that I could support our family. When I read the stories from the Salesian newsletters regarding how their missionaries serve many orphans and impoverished children or entire families in so many countries throughout the world, I feel a great desire to do my part to assist them financially. Unfortunately, I would not be able to become a lay missionaries with a T-7 incomplete spinal cord injury, but I am able to send donations to assist the missionaries in their unending arduous work, especially their ongoing water project. Jesus said, "The poor will always be with you." What I give comes directly from Jesus and not from me. I could never take credit for my donations. Our loving and merciful Lord has given the means to give to others less fortunate. In this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of mercy, Jesus is calling all of us to reach out to our brothers and sisters who are in great need so that they may live more healthy and productive lives. Thank you dear Salesian missionaries, support staff and others for doing God's work in such a loving, fruitful and productive manner. May God continue to richly bless you!
To Jesus through Mary,
