Review for Wildlife in Crisis, Inc., Weston, CT, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I had the great privelege to work as a weekly volunteer at Wildlife in Crisis several years ago and only quit due to personal health reasons. If I were able to, I'd still be there, as the work they do is invaluable and it was so gratifyiing to be a part of it. At WIC, injured wildlife are well cared for, rehabilitated and released back into the wild where they belong. Thank goodness there are people like Dara and the rest of the WIC staff in this world!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, and releasing them back into the wild.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

continue to try and expand...the work is so important.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the gratification of knowing I personally helped injured and orphaned wild animals recover and return to normal lives in the wild. It was so much fun to be up close and personal with the wildlife I love!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very competent and passionately devoted to their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand to help even more animals and develop a large scale community education program.

Ways to make it better...

I hadn't had to quit due to personal health constraints. Otherwise, I'd still be volunteering there.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

continuing to try and raise money on an ongoing basis.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Working there was a once in a lifetime experience for me. Growing up as a city kid who always loved animals, I never thought I'd have an opportunity to do something of that nature.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & Helped to feed and clean enclosures of rescued wildlife.
