Review for Klamath Bird Observatory, Ashland, OR, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Have had and continue to have great educational outings dealing with migratory bird conservation. I receive their newletter and am completely impressed by the quality and level of expertise this group consistantly shows in their research and conservation ethics regarding migratory birds and environmental conservation as a whole. They are energetic, creative, inclusive, humble, hard working individuals who believe in their cause.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

research for the Klamath Bioregion regarding habitat protection and the effects of habitat manipulation on Neotropical Migratory Birds.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand it and clone John Alexander!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They have a conservation ethic I embrace and believe in myself.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Smart, energetic, friendly.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Protect habitat, eliminate urban sprawl, enhance migratory songbird populations and survival.

Ways to make it better...

I would have been able to do more surveys with the group. However I needed to make a living greater than what the seasonal pay of the bird surveyers made.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Environmental degradation. That which faces us all.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I'm extremely biased toward living creatures besides humans and appreciate humans who are true stewards of the planet not just out for their own self interest unless of course that interest includes the non human inhabitants of this planet as well

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Donor & surveyed for birds in the early years, am a member.
