Review for Your Dog's Friend, Rockville, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Cannot say enough about this organization and all they provide--much of it free and the rest at reasonable cost. They are a huge resource both with classes, but also with their newsletters and other info they publish/provide free of charge, spreading the message of the value and efficacy of positive training and building bonds with your dog. We've attended a number of their webinars and in-person free seminars that helped us immensely with our dog's reactive issues. We've attended several in-person classes as well and always found their recommendations for equipment (harnesses, etc.) spot on too.

Whenever anyone gets a new dog and/or asks about/mentions the need for training, I ALWAYS recommend YDF --even if they are not in the physical area as they email their newsletter and their webinars can of course be attended from anywhere.

They are a terrific group and we find them invaluable!

YDF is terrific, not only for in-person classes and their (mostly free) seminars and lectures, but their periodic emails with informative articles. I always recommend them to our friends with dogs, both local and farther afield, at least to sign up for the emails so they get the benefit of the articles. Their classes have really good instructors and we have learned a lot of skills throughout the classes that help us help our dog be happy and well-behaved. Their mission of supporting all dog-owners, but especially adopters, is so needed with to help dogs fit into their homes and stay out of shelters! So often, simply having the correct training technique (instead of outdated methods or common myths) can make all the difference between a family keeping a dog or giving it up. YDF does a great job to try to ensure more dogs stay in their homes!
