Dear Wounded Warrior Project,
I just want to say thank you to everyone that made our 2016 Chicago Soldier Ride possible. From Wounded Warrior Project, Chicago Police Departments, Chicago Fire Departments, all Volunteers, to my fellow Wounded Warriors. You all made our soldier ride an absolutely incredible experience. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. Leaving to Chicago I knew I had a very tough battle ahead of me. I've been diagnosed with a tremendous amount Traumatic Brain Injuries dating back 2005 that have been under treated since 2005. My TBI's have had a huge impact on my everyday life. I have to deal with so many complications on a daily bases from migraine headaches, loss of vision, loss of memory, and being a totally different person all together. I'm also open to Alzheimer, Dementia, Parkinson, and other brain diseases. Three days after I returned from the soldier ride I started my 3 month long jump start of treatment. In hopes of prolonging these diseases and hopefully an improvement in my everyday life. Thanks to you all I'm charging this battle with a recharged battery, I'm carrying a huge amount of positive momentum with me from my Chicago trip! Lately I haven't had the luxury of picking and choosing the memories I stay with. But I hope and pray that the memories I made with all of you in Chicago stay with me forever. Again thank you and God Bless!
Sincerely,
Richard Diaz

Wounded Warrior Project has truly been a blessing in my life! I have been enrolled with WWP for 6 months and in these few months WWP has made a huge impact in my life. When I was directed to WWP I was unemployed and suffering from P.T.S.D. With not to many options for employment due to my many disabilities, Linda Cubero got started right away. Linda not only helped me find an awesome flexible job. She also assisted me in preparing a resume that blew me away, practice moc interviews , and even donated a business suit for my interviews. Recently I decided to take on a second part time job with no hesitation Linda got cracking again! I will be starting my second job next week! WWP didn't stop there I have been able to take my family to numerous events with the help of Valerie Burnham. Bringing my morale up . At these events other wounded warriors were present and it just feels goo to know I'm not alone fellow warriors are near by. I've also taken advantage of some physical & wellness opportunities offered to me. With Jesse Pipper's help I've lost over 15 pounds and during the holiday season alone, I cut more than 3% body fat. Jesse has reintroduced the importance of my physical and well-being. I have also been given the chance to help my community with the "Let's Build Some Fun" program. Which I helped Valerie and other wounded warriors build a playground for a children academy in need. That was an uplifting experience to help children in need not more than a few streets from where I grew up. I'm excited to see what my future will bring with WWP. For many years I felt alone and out of place. Now I'm proud to say I am not alone! I will soon start peer support with other wounded warriors and hope to join a Soldier Ride very soon. Thank you for your help, time, and compassion Wounded Warrior Project.
