Review for Global Links, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Volunteers are given opportunity to own the process of re-packing medical supplies, making decisions about how to pack, with supervision, working in small teams or on your own. Volunteer feels he has really made a difference in the world.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

bringing in surplus medical supplies destined for trash from small hospital where family member works

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

making a difference to the environment in terms of how many tons of medical supplies would have ended up in the landfills of western PA but now are going to hospitals in Latin America

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Young, fun very enthusiastic and hard-working

Ways to make it better...

Sometimes there are too many volunteers assigned to the same project.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

how to grow carefully and how to raise money

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Volunteer & sort recycd medical supplies and re-pack for shipment to developing countries.
