Review for Piedmont Wildlife Rehab, Inc., Greensboro, NC, USA
I was desperate! Bluebirds had finally nested in my yard, but suddenly something had happened to both parents. They hadn't appeared in a couple of days and if I didn't do something soon, these little defenseless babies would starve to death. An on-line search turned up a couple of organizations, but the only one that replied immediately was Piedmont Wildlife Rehab, in the person of the group's president, Melissa Coe, no less! Though heading into a meeting, she took the time to calm me down and coach me on what to look for and how to proceed, if it was obvious the parents were truly gone. Melissa promised to call me after the meeting and she kept her word. We arranged to meet that very night and she took the babies into PWR's care. The group successfully raising them to adulthood and released them in a secure location. I've since had several more successful nestings of bluebirds and other birds in my yard. Gone are the worries about what to do should a similar situation occur - PWR will be there with advice and help. In turn, the group is definitely now on the list of no-profit organizations that receive my support!
