Wonderful nonprofit. Far exceeds expectations in taking in and saving all kinds of native wildlife, primarily birds. Lots of dedicated volunteers. Smart, compassionate but small staff. Great newsletter, social media and communication program. We always know what they are doing, who they have rescued, how the animals are doing. They came to my rescue immediately when I found a rare, endangered gopher tortoise in the street in front of my home, and offered to see that he gets to a waif tortoise sanctuary. However, the tortoise escaped and must have gone back to his burrow, probably close by. Perhaps even on our own property. We are constantly trying to get a glimpse of this magnificent, ancient creature. No luck yet.
