I had no idea the volume and diversity of wildlife the Seabird Station was treating. I thought they mostly just took in pelicans, but they treat over 2000 patients of 150+ species each year.

The staff and volunteers seem very dedicated. I'd highly recommend supporting their important work and going on one of the monthly Behind the Scenes Tours. They give you an indepth perspective of the work they do and even released a pelican at the end of the tour. My son really enjoyed the tour and we're going to come back next month with some of his cousins.

The tours are free, but definitely consider making a donation to support their work.
