Review for Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Inc, St. Pauls, NC, USA
“I have known about Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary Inc. for a number of years now through Facebook. In November 2013 my husband and I were visiting friends in NC. We are from Canada and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to visit Blind Cat Rescue in person and meet all the cats, especially all my favorites, which was pretty much all of them! This is an exceptional facility. Alana Miller has created a sanctuary where blind cats and cats that have tested positive for Feline Aids and Leukemia are wanted, cared for and loved unconditionally. Education is extremely important here. Through Blind Cat Rescue's on-line videos, newsletters, social media networking and the very popular Open House Days, people are learning that having cats with special needs is not an insurmountable problem. These cats are not much different from "healthy" cats and they deserve to live just as much as any other living creature. When we lost our 19 year old cat as a result of a terrible vet experience, we decided to adopt cats that no one else wanted. We now have three adult male cats; two black and one ginger. They were all feral and all three tested positive for Feline Aids. We are not in a position to have a facility like Blind Cat Rescue but we have, in our own way, been able to emulate what Alana does on a larger scale. She inspired us to adopt "unwanted" animals and because of her, there are three Feline Aids Canadian cats that have a loving and caring home!”
