Review for Blue Paws Rescue, Lexington, TX, USA
Blue Paws Rescue has helped me by providing safe haven to cats that have been rescued by Good Samaritans, but our organization (Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions) was unable to help.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
saving the lives of feral and free-roaming cats.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the upbeat attitude and their tireless efforts to reduce the number of unwanted kittens by actively working to TNR feral colonies.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very dedicated to their organization. They are friendly and helpful.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
save more lives by sterilzing more cats and treating sick and injured cats.

Review for Shadow Cats Rescue, Round Rock, TX, USA
I have known Sheila Smith for many years. I completely support the work that Shadow Cats Rescue does to help feral cats. Historically, ferals are the most ignorred population. Sheila and her volunteers have made positive changes in public attitude and convincing government entities to change laws to legalize TNR and stop the senseless destruction of these cats.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
saving the lives of feral and free-roaming cats, as well as cats with feline leukemia or feline AIDS.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
that the cats are always their first priority.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
amazing. It takes a special person to spend hours working to TNR a feral colony. It is more of an art than a science. These dedicated volunteers have the utmost patience and compassion.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
TNR feral cats to prevent the birth unwanted kittens and improve their quality of life. They would also be able to treat more sick and injured cats, so they have a second chance at a better life.

Review for Lago Vista Pet Adoption And Welfare Service Inc, Lago Vista, TX, USA
I have been a volunteer with Lifelong Friends (also known as Lago Vista PAWS) since 1999. You will not find a more dedicated group of volunteers, and I'm proud to be associated with them. Our no-kill shelter focuses on saving the lives of stray and abandoned dogs and cats. For most of these animals, life at our shelter is the first time in their lives that they have felt safe, had plenty to eat, and experienced love. It is hard work and we face many challenges, but the rewards are endless.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
reducing the number of stray and abandoned animals running the streets and reducing the number of unwanted puppies and kittens by promoting spay/neuter.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I already help run this organization. We work hard to meet the needs of our shelter family.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the kitty kisses and purrs and the sloppy kisses and wagging tails from the dogs.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
fantastic. They are dedicated and caring. Everyone is there because they love animals. When we were struggling to make ends meet, our paid staff continued to work WITHOUT pay. That is how dedicated they are.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
create a more homelike environment for the shelter animals and hire full-time staff to help our overworked volunteers care for the cats and dogs.
Ways to make it better...
we had more volunteers. We always need animal lovers who share our passion for rescue to care for our shelter family.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
space and money. We have outgown our facility, which was built in 1997. We are always in need of funds because we pay for the basic medical (spay/neuter, shots, etc.) and we treat for injuries and illnesses.
