Review for The Mosaic Project, Oakland, CA, USA
In the past I have served as a facilitator and later as logistics support. The training that Mosaic brings to its students and staff inspired me eventually, propelling me into my Masters Peace Studies program for which I will remain forever grateful. I took the opportunity to chomp some of their youth leader survey data and there was statistical significance around this demographic believing they had the skills necessary to resolve conflicts amongst their peers. I believe the program reaches students through both hands on minds on work, but also by music with recipes for success in life along with outdoor camp fun and games with students coming from very diverse backgrounds.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
look to create deeper year around programming and well, it looks like that is happening over time as the organization begins to secure a more permanent campus setting. I would also consider mobilizing the program to deliver shorter soft skills development musical theatre programming during the portions of the year when the outdoor school is not in session to hold onto facilitation staff in a more year round capacity.
Review for Islands Society, Kailua-Kona, HI, USA
In addition to information and program sharing, Islands Society not only has the ability to empower change agents by recognizing them here online within a community of peers, but also to inspire young women within the Pacific Islands by letting them see the work of positive female role models within their greater community. I applaud the work they do, which can only continue to inspire a greater Pacific Island dialogue worldwide.
