Review for Animal Welfare Project, West Norriton, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was introduced to AWP because of a connection I have with a horse jump company. A visit to their web site convinced me that this was an organization which clearly mirrored my own belief about animal welfare and the benefits derived from retraining "unwanted" horses and dogs so that they could become valuable, contributing members of society. This is an organization whose goals, when reached, will benefit both humans and animals.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

In the number of dogs and horses they have found new homes for without the benefit of a retraining facility. If they can accomplish what they have with just an office and a telephone, the sky's the limit once they have a proper facility.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not change a thing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The feeling of accomplishment that is derived from the completion of even the smallest task and the people I have met.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All of the people I have met through my connection with AWP are welcoming, friendly and totally committed to AWP's goals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

save a lot of homeless or unwanted horses and dogs from euthanasia or a life of abuse. It would enable these animals to be retrained to become valuable, contributing members of our society.

Ways to make it better...

I can't imagine how my experience could have been improved.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The lack of adequate funding is the biggest challenge facing this organization.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I'm thrilled to be part of AWP and feel that my contribution, no matter how small, is making a difference.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Volunteer & I work on the Grant Writing Team trying to find funding for AWP.
