Review for Life Unlimited of Virginia Inc, Rapidan, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I first found out about Life Unlimited of Virginia, Inc. (Rikki's) when I had a cat (Bogart)with feline leukemia for whom I had to find a home. I wanted to find a place that would be his forever home since I was unable to provide that for him. All my dealings with Rikki's, were great. Timely responses to all my questions and conerns. The people who I dealt with were aware that it was not easy to have to surrender Bogart but it was the right thing to do for him.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

When I went back to visit my cat, I found him as well as the other kitties thriving. The organization really does run on a shoestring budget. It is amazing what they can do with so little.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I ran this organization, I would hire someone to write grants so that money would be less of an issue. I would lobby pet food companies for food. Good PR for them as well good for Rikki's critters.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

What I have enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is how the people involved with the organization give so much to the lives in their care.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Kerry and volunteers.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do what it is doing now but in a bigger way.

Ways to make it better...

It would be wonderful if the organization just had to worry about how to care for the animals and not so much about the money.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

money, money, money. Other big challenges are educating the community and finding ways to feed all their charges.

One thing I'd also say is that...

with the recession, animal care organizations are especially hard hit just when they need support the most. It would be great if they had what they needed to do their job, did not lack for anything.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010
