The LPFW is a staple in Santa Barbara and recognized all around the area for its efforts and success. As a former intern, I found the number of projects the LPFW was involved in to be very impressive, especially with such a small staff. And even more impressive was the amount of success that the organization had. The LPFW has had a huge impact on shaping the outcome of the Los Padre National Forest in the past 10 years, halting many oil wells from being drilled, protecting endangered species (like the California Condor), protecting sensitive regions of the forest, and promoting environmentalism to the people of Santa Barbara.
