Review for Veterans Airlift Command, Saint Louis Park, MN, USA

I have carried several wounded veterans to personal or training destinations. Almost all have lost a leg or two. It is inspiring to meet these young men and some of their families. If there is a valid criticisom of VAC it is that not many veterans know about this service. I'm certain many more flights would be done if requested.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I flew a severely wounded soldier from Colorado to Texas. His mother, a registered nurse, came along. As a result of his injuries he had traumatic brain injury which destroyd much of his memory. Upon our arrival in San Antonio some of his Army friends

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

continued... met us but the soldier could not remember them. When we had time for dinner the stories his friends told helped the soldier to recover some of his memory.

Ways to make it better...

I'm certain more soldiers and families could be helped if they knew about the program. Flying in a private airplane makes travel much easier for those in wheelchairs.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

coordinating better with the Veteran's hospitals to do more flights

Role:  Volunteer & Fly wounded soldiers to various locations without the stress and problems of going via the scheduled airlines.
