I had the great opportunity to read the book Half the Sky by, N. Kristoff and S. Wu Dunn , and learned about Fistula Issues. Then I learned of Fistula Foundation. My Husband, John and I visited their office up in San Jose, CA. I began donating to them in 2012. Since then I have read more books on Fistula issues, such as Hospital by the River, by C. Hamblin and Cutting for Stone, by A. Verghese . In my wildest dreams, I would like to go to a Fistula Hospital and work, in any capacity that they have need of. My hat goes off to the men and women who help in the hospitals, the women who are brave enough to get from their little homes to the bigger cities to have these operations and then sometime return home to help others in the same situation. That is what "community" is about! Thank you Fistula Foundation - I am a BIG fan!
